Grumble, Sigh, FAIL [27 - Oct - 08 @ 16:01]

Gallery Comments: Now with added Capatcha goodness (numbers in a box, re-type whats there, you know the drill)
Project Garden: Almost complete (!)... Well, I have the retaining walls built now, the one on the right (between our garden and the neighbours) was built a couple of weeks ago, and is now supporting a good pile of soil, and a few plants. The other wall, behind the shed was built yesterday, so I'm waiting for the cement to set properly before piling the soil up behind that and getting everything else planted
All I need to do then is work out how I'm going to cover the mud thats left... paving stones? gravel of some description? Don't particularly want grass... (that involves a mower...)
Work? Well, I'm not going to comment as I'll end up ranting and just getting worked up. It'll sort itself out sooner or later (hopefully sooner)... |

Looks like something caused a couple of things to reboot t'other day, and I wasn't able to get Michelle to fix it So, a day missing there... at least it stopped the flippin comment spammers from attacking my gallery so much
Speaking of comment spammers, please get lost I've stuck a simple capacha thing on the comments now, so it should mean I have less crap-removal to do
Anywho, back to doing stuff and nonsense |

I've found the magic words to utter to the gallery so that everyone can add comments to the project365 photos, so, if you have something to say, feel free

Things you don't see on the A64 everyday [21 - Aug - 08 @ 20:15]

Well, it looks like the Carling Leeds festival is underway, what with the A64 from Leeds to the M1/A1 turning itself into a car park
However, in the list of things you don't see everyday on the A64 is the following:
- People walking 5miles, backpack on their backs, case of carling under one arm, can of the filth in their other hand...
- 2 Police volvo's pulling one chap over, for reasons unknown to me
and finally:
- A pair of festival goers, stark bollock naked, walking the last few hundred yards to the gate of the car park. The trucker they'd just past sounded like he appreciated it... (with his horn, not words).
This concludes todays 'things you don't normally see $here' |

2 Powercuts in 12hours? [10 - Aug - 08 @ 17:55]
Posted into: Server Fun
|
Well, being woken at 5.30 this morning by a dozen alarms going off, all because something had tripped the power off to the local area wasn't a delight... it went something like this:
Michelle: Jimmy, is that our car alarm?
Me: Uh, er, what, eh? No, its a house alarm somewhere, or 3...
Michelle: Are you sure? What time is it?
Me: (Looks at alarm clock, which isn't on, sound of the computer in the corner is absent, pick up mobile) Er, half five ish, looks to be a power cut...
Michelle: Oh, okay... Zzzzzz......
So, after eventually getting up, having a bath (and falling asleep in it), the power appears to come back on. I check everything is running okay before heading out...
Come this evening, I see that I've been booted off the ssh session I left going (naughty me)... and it looks like someone knocked the power off again around lunch time... hopefully, fixing whatever was broken this morning, and bodged to work for the time...
Hopefully, the same won't happen again for a while, I like my sleep I do |
